Committed to preserving the African-American concert tradition, HSC performs a broad range of choral music at the highest artistic level. The chorale has performed at the Kennedy Center, the White House, the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and many other venues in the Washington-Baltimore region. Our concert repertoire has included Rossini’s Stabar Mater, the modern spiritual arrangements of Moses Hogan, Randall Thompson’s a cappella classic The Peaceable Kingdom and Bach’s Magnificat.
